The University Grants Commission (UGC) has shared important information regarding the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-2023 with all central universities, including Allahabad University (AU). The exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and will be used for admission to undergraduate courses at AU and its constituent colleges, just like last year. Scheme of Marks
According to the UGC’s instructions, each correct answer in the entrance test will be awarded five marks, while one mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. In case there are multiple correct options for any question, the candidate will only be awarded one mark.
CUET-2023 Exam Pattern:
The CUET-2023 exam will consist of three sections for the undergraduate entrance test. The first section will be a language section (Hindi/English/Regional Language) with 50 questions, out of which the candidate will have to answer 40 in 45 minutes. The second section will consist of 50 questions from an optional subject, and the candidate will have to answer 40 in 45 minutes. The third section will be a general knowledge section with 60 questions related to current affairs, mental ability, numerical ability, and quantitative reasoning. Candidates will have to answer 50 questions in 60 minutes.
Important Dates for CUET-2023:
Candidates will be informed about their examination center city on April 30th. The exam will be conducted between May 21st and May 31st, with reserve dates from June 1st to June 7th. The entrance test will be conducted online in 34 cities across India.

For the first time, admission to eight professional courses (468 seats) of AU, run by the Institute of Professional Studies (IPS), will be done through CUET. These courses include BVoc (media production) and BA (media studies), BCA (three years), BCA (five years), MCA (data science), and BVoc (software development). Other UG professional courses also on offer include the five-year food and technology program and the three-year BVoc (food processing)
